10 Ways to Grow Hair Faster

Wash Hair Less often for long hair

Did you know that shampooing hair too frequently can throw off your scalp’s natural chemistry? This can lead to an imbalance of the scalp’s microbiome, which can result in inflammation, dryness, itchy, flaky scalp, as well as excessive hair shedding.

By washing your hair less frequently, the natural oils from your scalp condition, the hair follicle preventing split ends, and can even promote shiny glossy hair.

Usually, by the second after washing styling, my hair starts to droop. One of my favorite methods to extend the life of my hairstyle and save precious time is to sprinkle on some dry shampoo when I need to freshen up my hair and add a little volume.

USE A SHOWER FILTER FOR HAIR GROWTH

If you’re trying to grow long, healthy hair or prevent excessive hair fallout, you might want to consider using a shower and/or bath filter. Often times, when we think of water filters, we think about filters just for drinking water and cooking. Did you know that tap water from your shower can contain some impurities like chlorine as well as a bunch of other hard mineral deposits? Studies have shown that too much exposure to chlorine can cause excessive shedding and scalp irritation and dryness.

Hard mineral deposits leave the hair follicle dull, weighed down, and can clog pores in the scalp. A nice bonus of using a shower filter is that your skin will be smoother and softer too. Talk about a win-win! If you prefer to soak in soothing baths, there are also bath filters that drop into the bathtub as you’re drawing up your relaxing bath that helps to reduce chlorine.

AVOID HEAT STYLING FOR HEALTHIER, FULLER HAIR

Heat Styling results in dryness and damage. This is because the intense heat from hairdryers, curling irons, and flat irons alike causes water under the cuticles of the hair to form bubbles that weaken and damage the hair from within the hair follicle. The result? You end up with pesky split ends, breakage aka those little fly aways at the top of your hair, and weak, brittle hair.

Get Plenty of beauty Rest

Get plenty of rest. Most adults require 8 hours of sleep. This may seem like a no brainer, but did you know that most adults in the US & UK get just around 6 and a half hours of sleep a night on average. Not getting enough sleep can trigger the body to produce stress hormones that disrupt our hair’s natural growth cycle.

Eat Healthy Foods For Great Hair

Foods containing vitamin A, K, and Iron are great to include in your diet if trying to promote healthy hair growth. Foods containing a good source of Vitamin A, K, Iron, and folate are dark leafy greens such as spinach, kale, broccoli.

oil Treatments for Scalp & hair

Applying cold-pressed oils to the root of your hair and scalp that contain high levels of Ricinoleic acid is reported to dramatically increase hair growth. So, what is Ricinoleic acid? It’s a fatty acid that stimulates blood circulation and can reduce inflammation.

Castor Oil contains the highest amount of ricinoleic acid at roughly 90%. Castor oil, when applied to the scalp and roots of your hair, can help reduce hair fallout, boost hair growth, reduce dandruff, flaking, and itchiness. Routine castor oil treatment can even enhance your hair’s natural color.

This is the hair oil that I make and use on a consistent basis.

At the moment, there’s no scientific data that indicates castor oil can help stimulate hair growth. So you’ll have to determine for yourself if cold-pressed oil hair treatments are right for you.

Boost Circulation with Scalp Massages

Studies have shown that massaging the scalp enhances hair fullness by lengthening the cells of hair follicles. By stimulating the hair follicles to produce thicker fuller hair. It’s also believed that a scalp massages can increase circulation and blood flow underneath the skin of the scalp, which can boost hair growth.

be gentle when styling your hair to avoid damage

Did you know that wet hair is 1/3 weaker than dry hair? When hair is wet, it is vulnerable to damage like split ends and breaks. This is because water bonds with the protein strands and weakens the strands of hair from within. Some best practices for your hair to avoid damaging wet hair is to use not brush hair when wet. You can use a wide-toothed comb to brush hair after applying conditioner or leave-in conditioner. Be sure to comb hair from the bottom, gradually working up, and never pull or tug at wet hair.

Avoid Wearing Hats Too Snug & Tightly Bound Ponytails

Wearing Hats that are too tight, very warm, or ponytails and other up-do’s that are very tight could potentially lower blood circulation to the hair follicles. This is due to the decrease in blood flow, which can stress the hair follicle and can result in excessive hair fall out. This sort of hair loss is generally temporary. However, if left unchecked could result in permanent damage.

vitamins for hair growth

A healthy diet that includes all 13 essential vitamins can help to maintain healthy hair health. Please keep in mind that there is no proof supporting the possibility of individual vitamins increasing hair growth

Significant vitamin deficiencies can result in hair loss, so it is important to get enough of each vitamin to minimize hair loss and excessive shedding. Scientists have completed a number of studies on how vitamins D and E can help promote hair growth, along with B-complex vitamins, and iron.

If you’re experiencing hair loss and suspect it is due to a vitamin deficiency, you should speak to a doctor. A simple blood analysis ordered by your doctor can confirm any vitamin deficiencies and prescribe a vitamin regime tailored to your needs.
